Job Description


As a Security Officer - Museum Unarmed Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. Your visible presence will contribute to a secure environment, while your strong customer service skills and communication will support the unique needs of this location. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order and address issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and monitor for potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or incidents to the appropriate personnel in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
  • Assist visitors and staff with directions and general information, helping to create a welcoming environment while maintaining security-related awareness.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
