As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, assisting residents and visitors, and providing outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests at the shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation and communication as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter prohibited items or activities and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Document observations and incidents clearly and accurately, following Allied Universal protocols and site-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with shelter staff and other Allied Universal team members to maintain a welcoming and orderly environment for residents and visitors.
  • Remain alert and aware of surroundings to help to deter disruptions and support a secure atmosphere within the shelter.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR or First Aid is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
