Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Facility Driver in Virginia Beach, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This armed and driving position involves conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and report any irregularities.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities to the appropriate authorities.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas, following established protocols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities as required by Allied Universal and client policies.
  • Assist law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when requested and provide necessary information to support ongoing investigations.
  • Adhere to all site-specific procedures and guidelines for the armed patrol post, maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
