As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol a shelter location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for residents and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity, hazards, or incidents according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized individuals and provide reassurance to staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Communicate professionally with shelter staff, residents, and visitors, addressing questions and/or concerns as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
