Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Hospital Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, staying visible to support a secure environment, and delivering outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or hazards encountered during patrols within the healthcare location.
  • Assist visitors, patients, and staff with directions and general inquiries as part of a customer-focused approach.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to support a secure environment, including monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas as required.
  • Document incidents and observations clearly and promptly according to Allied Universal policies and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of vaccination is required for hospital assignments.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required for the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
