Job Description


As a Security Officer - Facility Patrol Driver in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents. Your visible presence and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
  • Report and document any suspicious activity, hazards, or unusual occurrences encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly with team members, site staff, and/or visitors as needed to relay pertinent security-related information.
  • Assist with access control procedures for vehicles and/or personnel entering and exiting the location.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and adapt patrol routes or response as needed based on site conditions and/or instructions from Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
