As a Security Officer - Government Entry Screening in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor access points, conduct x-ray screenings, and perform routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen individuals and/or items entering the location to help to deter prohibited materials and unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and/or passengers to provide information or directions as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• X Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
