Job Description


As a Security Officer - Healthcare Patrol in Shelbyville, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service and communication while supporting the needs of staff, patients, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or conditions, communicating promptly with Allied Universal management and/or site representatives as required.
  • Support access control procedures by monitoring entrances, exits, and visitor activity within the healthcare environment.
  • Document security-related incidents and maintain detailed logs according to site guidelines.
  • Assist patients, staff, and visitors with directions and general inquiries to help promote a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary, following established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Vaccinations required for hospital setting.
  • Must be able to work in areas that include the hospital morgue.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
