Job Description


As a Security Officer – Healthcare Unarmed Patrol in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas to help deter security-related incidents and support the well-being of staff, patients, and visitors. By remaining visible and approachable, you will provide outstanding customer service, respond to various situations, and contribute to a welcoming environment, all while embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, suspicious activity, or unauthorized persons on the premises.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points and verifying identification as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns and provide information or assistance as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must meet all vaccine requirements for hospital environments.
  • Applicants may be required to work in hospital morgue areas.
  • Applicants may be required to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
