Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Full-Time in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible while conducting routine patrols, respond to incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This armed role is ideal for those who are committed to teamwork, integrity, and making a positive impact within a dynamic and people-first environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and key access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of patrols, observations, and security-related incidents as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when necessary, following established protocols.
  • Remain alert and aware of the surroundings to identify and report potential security-related risks or hazards at the government facility.
  • Follow all protocols regarding the use and handling of firearms, as required for armed posts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A college degree is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A corrections officer license is required.
  • Applicants must have a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate's degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • A law enforcement officer license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
