Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Education in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to help to deter unauthorized access and promote a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Assist visitors and staff by providing information and directions as needed within the educational environment.
  • Collaborate with local staff and emergency services when necessary to address incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
