Job Description


As a Security Officer - Chemical Facility Patrol in Winston Salem, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a chemical and petrochemical location, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment. You will perform routine patrols, respond to incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, with attention to areas where chemicals and/or petrochemical materials are present.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and to observe for any unusual conditions or potential hazards.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and maintenance needs to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
  • Assist with access control procedures, including verifying credentials for personnel and visitors entering the location.
  • Support emergency response protocols, including assisting with evacuation procedures and contacting appropriate authorities if needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential risks and provide reassurance to employees and visitors at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
