Job Description


As a Security Guard - Media Campus Patrol in Aurora, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic tech and media location, helping to deter security-related incidents through routine patrols and a strong visible presence. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication, reflecting our commitment to teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including business areas and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, suspicious activity, or unauthorized persons on the premises.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to support a secure environment.
  • Follow all site-specific instructions and protocols as directed by Allied Universal and the client.
  • Document and report all incidents and security-related activities according to company and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
