Job Description


As a Security Guard - Utilities Reception in Gahanna, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer in a utilities location, you will be the first point of contact, providing exceptional customer service while monitoring access and assisting visitors. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents and supports a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel at the front desk by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor access control to the location, verifying credentials and assisting with visitor management processes.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate, including communication with site management and Allied Universal personnel.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities and incidents using Allied Universal reporting tools.
  • Help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity by maintaining a professional presence at the front desk.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all individuals entering or exiting the location, providing information and assistance as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
