Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Point Monitor in Accomac, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a food and beverage location, you will monitor entrances, check credentials, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain highly visible, provide outstanding customer service, and use technology to support your duties. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and vendors in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by assisting individuals with inquiries and directing them appropriately within the facility.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report any unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal procedures and site protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of activities and observations related to security-related matters.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site management and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, site personnel, and local authorities as required.
  • Follow all site-specific policies and procedures relevant to the food and beverage environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
