Job Description


As a Security Officer - Auto Patrol Driver Day Shifts in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a leading automotive location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. This driving post allows you to interact with visitors and staff, deliver exceptional customer service, and support access control. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter, which may include automotive facilities and related areas.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to appropriate Allied Universal personnel.
  • Help to deter unauthorized individuals from accessing restricted areas by maintaining a visible presence during patrols.
  • Document incidents and daily activities according to Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Assist visitors and employees with general inquiries and provide directions within the location as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
