Job Description


As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Control in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor entry points and patrol a dynamic chemical or petrochemical location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the location to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or activities.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by communicating security-related procedures and offering assistance as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter security-related risks and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities as required by site protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, coordinating with site personnel and Allied Universal as directed.
  • Maintain awareness of the unique operational environment and potential hazards associated with chemical and petrochemical facilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
