Job Description


As a Security Officer – Hospital Entry Patrol in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any security-related irregularities or incidents, including property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors while maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential issues.
  • Follow post orders and instructions from Allied Universal management and site leadership to support the overall security-related objectives of the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccinations are required for work in hospital settings.
  • Applicants must be able to work in hospital morgue environments.
  • Applicants must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
