Job Description


As a Security Officer - Healthcare Patrol Monitor in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a healthcare location, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide peace of mind for staff, patients, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the healthcare environment in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or incidents to the appropriate personnel in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support access control measures by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, and assisting with visitor management as needed.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including providing directions, helping to evacuate areas if necessary, and working with first responders.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, incidents, and observations during each shift as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Communicate with team members, healthcare staff, and visitors to foster a secure and welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
