As a Security Officer - Utilities Facility Patrol in FAIRFAX, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol utility locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. Your role includes routine patrols and engaging with staff and visitors to deliver outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter, including utility areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor for unusual activity or conditions that may affect the operations of the utility facility and report findings according to established protocols.
  • Document observations, incidents, and any actions taken during patrols using Allied Universal reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and law enforcement as directed in response to incidents or emergencies.
  • Follow all site-specific instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal and the client for the utility environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • This is primarily a driving post and is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
