Job Description


As a Security Officer – Armed Mall Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a retail location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for all visitors. You will provide visible presence, support store operations, and deliver exceptional customer service, all while upholding our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. This is an armed post, requiring a high level of professionalism and commitment to our caring culture.

Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and document observations during patrols and/or in response to incidents.
  • Work collaboratively with store staff and management to address security-related concerns and support a positive environment for customers and employees.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to any situation requiring an armed security-related presence at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Hold a Level III Armed Certification for Texas.
  • Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
  • Baton Certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
