Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Hospital Patrol Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will remain visible throughout your shift, respond to incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including responding appropriately to emergencies as they arise.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, using professional judgement to address issues as they occur within the healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and to maintain a visible presence within the location.
  • Assist staff, visitors, and patients by providing information or directions as needed, while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, activities, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary, following established procedures for the healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
