As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Sterling Heights, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic tech, media, and telecom environment. You will monitor and patrol designated areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a visible presence. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Manage access control by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points within the location.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and report any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the business premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift in detailed reports.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to address inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
  • Follow all Allied Universal policies and procedures while maintaining a professional presence at the assigned location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
