Job Description


As a Security Officer - Hospital Reception Desk in Sunnyvale, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, patients, and staff. Your role includes monitoring access, assisting guests with inquiries, and providing a welcoming presence while helping to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or entry.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or irregularities according to site procedures.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including providing information and guidance to staff and visitors as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with healthcare staff, patients, and visitors to address inquiries and direct individuals appropriately.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
