Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Armed Patrol Driver in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. This armed and driving role involves maintaining a strong presence, responding to incidents, and assisting the public, all while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activities.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities or security-related concerns to the appropriate authorities.
  • Maintain a visible presence while on patrol to help to deter unauthorized access and/or activities.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as required by site protocols.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift in detailed reports.
  • Comply with all Allied Universal and client site policies and procedures regarding the handling and carrying of firearms.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • An armed guard card or armed guard license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
