Job Description


As a Security Officer - Healthcare Facility Patrols in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. This is a driving post, so you will use your valid driver's license to support patrols throughout the property. You will deliver outstanding customer service and communication while upholding our values of integrity, teamwork, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas, observing for any suspicious activity or policy violations.
  • Document and report security-related incidents and unusual occurrences according to site procedures.
  • Assist with access control, visitor management, and enforcing site-specific rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other personnel during emergency situations and/or drills to support established protocols.
  • Provide visible presence and support to help to deter potential disruptions within the healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
