Job Description


As a Security Officer - Retail Center Patrol - Full Time in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. Your visible presence helps to deter security-related incidents, while your commitment to outstanding customer service and communication makes you a valued member of the team. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control measures by monitoring entry and exit points within the retail environment.
  • Support loss prevention efforts and help to deter theft or other criminal activity by maintaining a visible presence.
  • Collaborate with store management and Allied Universal leadership to communicate security-related information and follow site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
