Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government in Chattanooga, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal serving a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service through strong communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor premises for unusual activity and report findings according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal and site leadership regarding access, patrol routes, and incident response.
  • Assist with access control procedures, verifying credentials and authorizations as required.
  • Complete detailed reports on all incidents, observations, and activities during each shift.
  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications for armed security-related duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
