Job Description


As a Security Guard – Healthcare Facility Patrol in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal in a dynamic healthcare environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential disturbances.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as directed, including supporting evacuation or lockdown procedures when appropriate for the healthcare setting.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or hazards according to site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the healthcare location to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to staff, patients, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccines are required for work in hospital environments.
  • Work may involve duties in a hospital morgue.
  • The ability to restrain individuals is required in hospital settings.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
