Job Description


As a Security Officer – Healthcare in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your presence and exceptional customer service will support a welcoming atmosphere, while your attention to detail will contribute to loss prevention and assist in responding to various situations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols inside the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible presence throughout the location.
  • Document security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken according to site and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and local authorities as needed to provide support during incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and communicate any concerns to supervisors or appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hospital employees must have required vaccinations as mandated by the facility.
  • Applicants may be required to work in hospital morgue areas as part of their security-related duties.
  • Applicants must be able to restrain individuals as required in a hospital environment.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
