Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed School Patrol in North Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence throughout the campus. Your role involves engaging with students, staff, and visitors to provide exceptional customer service and communication while upholding our values of integrity, teamwork, and reliability. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor for and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns within the campus environment.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with campus personnel and law enforcement as needed during incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Adhere to all applicable legal requirements and company protocols regarding the carrying and use of firearms while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provide a DD214 with Honorable Discharge or an Associates Degree or 60 College Credits or a Police Academy Certificate or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
