Job Description


As a Security Officer – Unarmed Hospital Patrol Full-Time in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol healthcare locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will interact with staff, patients, and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service and communication while supporting a caring culture. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and address security-related concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual occurrences, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist visitors, patients, and staff by providing directions and responding to inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations and/or other urgent situations as directed by Allied Universal and site leadership.
  • Document all incidents and activities in accordance with Allied Universal policies and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Hospital staff must have required vaccines as specified by the facility.
  • Applicants may be required to work in or around hospital morgue environments.
  • Applicants may be required to restrain individuals as part of their duties in hospital settings.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
