Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Government Facility in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct patrols throughout a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment. This post requires both armed and driving responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for unusual circumstances.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification or authorization of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site protocols.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential disruptions or unauthorized activities.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders as directed during incidents or emergencies on site.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor and appearance while representing Allied Universal at the government location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
