Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and provide excellent customer service while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter and report suspicious behavior or security-related breaches.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed during critical incidents on site.
  • Maintain awareness of the surroundings and communicate with team members to support security-related objectives for the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
