Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a dynamic tech environment, you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering or exiting the location to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and perimeter to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a visible presence.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or unusual activities in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with client staff and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns specific to a technology-driven environment.
  • Remain alert to potential security-related hazards or breaches, adapting to the dynamic needs of a tech-focused location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
