Job Description


As a Security Officer - Museum Patrol Team in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter incidents and maintain a secure environment for guests and staff. You will interact with visitors, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate professionally while performing security-related duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related concerns, or hazards within the location to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support access control measures by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials when required, and assisting with visitor management procedures.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response protocols specific to cultural institution settings.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and security-related occurrences as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
