Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Hotel Patrol in Locust Grove, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hotels & Resorts, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a hotel and resort location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. This position includes armed and driving responsibilities as you maintain a professional presence throughout the property. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, applying site protocols and Allied Universal standards.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the premises, including both the interior and perimeter areas of the hotel or resort property.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access by maintaining a visible presence and monitoring for unusual activity during patrols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and/or activities as required by site protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with hotel or resort staff and guests to address concerns and provide assistance as needed.
  • Follow all company protocols regarding the handling and carrying of firearms, maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and Allied Universal policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and/or briefings related to security-related procedures and emergency response specific to the hotel or resort environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
