As a Security Officer - Retail Access Specialist in Somerset, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer in a dynamic retail environment, where you'll help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, checking badges, and conducting routine patrols throughout the location. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including access control protocols.
• Monitor entrances and exits to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity within the retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail site and its perimeter to help to deter potential security-related issues.
• Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or policy violations according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
• Collaborate with retail staff and management to maintain a welcoming environment while upholding access control standards.
• Operate security-related equipment such as access control systems, radios, and surveillance tools as required for the post profile.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
