Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Government Patrol Response in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents within a government location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for and report any suspicious behavior or security-related concerns observed during patrols.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the location to help to deter potential disturbances and/or unauthorized access.
  • Communicate with Allied Universal management and local authorities as needed in response to incidents.
  • Document all incidents and activities in accordance with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Carry and responsibly handle a firearm as required by the armed post profile, following all applicable laws and company protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Applicants must provide one of the following: a DD214 with honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
