What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the utility location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or security-related concerns within the facility and surrounding area.
  • Interact professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors to provide assistance and uphold site policies.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding security-related incidents, patrol activities, and observations.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed for incidents that occur on site.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence to help to deter unwanted activity and provide reassurance to those at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
