Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed School Patrol Driver in Wilmington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment through regular patrols at an educational location. This role requires both armed responsibilities and driving as part of daily duties. You will maintain a visible presence, support students and staff, and deliver outstanding customer service while embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including emergencies that may arise on campus grounds.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and observe for any unusual activity, reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of incidents, patrols, and any security-related activities as required by site protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with campus staff and local law enforcement when appropriate to support a secure learning environment.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and/or requests for assistance in accordance with Allied Universal training and site-specific guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
