As a Security Officer - Cultural Institution Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for guests and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor entrances, galleries, and public areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or inappropriate conduct.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.
• Document incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client protocols.
• Assist in guiding guests during events, emergencies, and/or evacuations as needed.
• Remain alert to surroundings and report any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
