Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Education Patrol in Rock Hill, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence at an education location. Your role involves engaging with the community, providing strong customer service, and responding quickly to any incidents. This position is armed and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working in a team that values integrity, innovation, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for armed patrol posts.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the educational location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and provide a visible security-related presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, students, and visitors to promote a secure environment within the educational setting.
  • Document and report any incidents, observations, or unusual activities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies or incidents that may arise within the educational location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least five years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
