As a Security Officer - Education Patrol in Miami Shores, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within an educational environment, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate with staff, students, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the education location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or behaviors.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report observations, incidents, and/or irregularities according to Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Assist students, staff, and visitors with directions and general inquiries while maintaining a visible presence.
  • Support emergency response efforts and coordinate with local authorities as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 21+ years of age is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
