Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Patrol Detail in Talladega, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your visible presence and attention to detail will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for all individuals on site. You will interact with visitors and staff, provide exceptional customer service, and support security-related protocols, including access control and alarm panel monitoring. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter potential issues and observe for any unusual activity. Working environments and conditions may vary depending on the location.
  • Document and report any incidents, observations, or irregularities encountered during patrols in accordance with Allied Universal's protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or other individuals at the location to provide assistance or information as needed.
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal and the location to help maintain a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
