Job Description


As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol Specialist in Wilmington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and communication. This role requires driving as part of your patrol duties, offering you the opportunity to make a positive impact while upholding our values of integrity, teamwork, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the educational environment in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and promote a secure environment for all occupants.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as needed to address security-related concerns and/or emergencies.
  • Provide visible presence throughout the educational location to help to deter disruptive behavior and support a welcoming atmosphere.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
