Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Specialist in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, engaging in emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor and report any irregularities, such as security breaches, property damage, or unusual occurrences, according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential risks and provide reassurance to personnel and visitors within the government location.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as necessary during incidents or emergencies.
  • Document all activities, observations, and incidents in detailed written reports as required by Allied Universal policies and client expectations.
  • Follow all protocols for the carrying and handling of firearms, maintaining compliance with applicable laws and Allied Universal standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a college degree.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
