As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role involves monitoring assigned areas, responding promptly to situations, and providing exceptional customer service to everyone you encounter. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm and problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behaviors and provide reassurance to those at the location.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and law enforcement as needed.
• Write detailed incident and activity reports as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.
• Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies and/or incidents as they arise while on patrol.
• Carry and responsibly handle assigned firearms in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
