As a Security Officer - Shelter Patrol Coverage in East Elmhurst, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a strong presence throughout the shelter location. Your role involves monitoring assigned areas, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting access control efforts. You will interact with staff, visitors, and residents, creating a welcoming and secure environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify potential concerns.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations, incidents, and activities during patrols and while on post.
• Collaborate with shelter staff and/or residents to address concerns and support a secure environment.
• Follow instructions from Allied Universal management and site supervisors regarding post orders, assignments, and emergency protocols.
• Remain alert and attentive to surroundings to help to deter unwanted activity and promptly report any irregularities or suspicious actions.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
