Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Marietta, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading chemical and petrochemical location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, and conducting patrols throughout the site. You will be responsible for managing access points, responding to alarms, and providing exceptional customer service to all personnel and visitors. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license, as you will spend much of your time patrolling the property by vehicle. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor access control points to help to deter unauthorized entry to restricted areas within the chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises, following site-specific procedures.
  • Assist with visitor sign-in and sign-out processes, maintaining accurate logs as required by site policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Provide customer service by answering questions and offering assistance to employees, contractors, and visitors as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to observe for unusual activity or security-related concerns.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and site contacts regarding any security-related incidents or concerns.
  • Support emergency response activities based on site-specific requirements and protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Primarily driving post is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
